Feel Jesus's and God's love through Nature at Spirit Tree Farms - native plants and pollinator-friendly environment

About Spirit Tree Farms

We teach nature observation so that people can hear and feel and experience God’s love and messages in Nature.
As they do, we show them, by example, how to let Nature inspire their own creativity.

Once upon a time, in Northwest Georgia, there was a pennisula of land surrounded on three sides by West Chickamauga Creek. Native Americans camped, fished, and harvested pawpaw, corn, squash, river cane, nuts, and more on the land.

As time passed, the land witnessed one of the largest battles of the Civil War. After that, it became a cattle and horse farm, a sod farm, a wheat and corn field.

But there was always something sacred about the land, something that seemed to whisper, from the branches of the mighty pre-Civil War “Old Woman of the Woods” oak tree: “This land is a place of peace, security, joy, and harmony. Connect to me. See God in Nature. Come to me. I can heal you.” So Spirit Tree Farms was born. Not only is the land home to native plants, wildflowers, and trees, and the birds and animals that come with them, but it heals and grows peaceful and creative souls.

We invite you to come walk the property, connect to the Creator through His creations, learn to listen to and observe Nature, find peace, and be healed. Let Nature inspire your creativity! We’d love to help you unleash your creativity, in writing, art, music, or business.

About David and Marnie Kuhns

Marnie and Dave with Blackberries

Marnie Pehrson Kuhns (CreationGirl.com) and David Kuhns (CyranoWriter.com) own six acres on the banks of West Chickamauga Creek, bordering the 5400-acre Chickamauga National Military Park in NW Georgia, USA. They also run Spirit Tree Publishing and IdeaMarketers. Click here for more information about finding peace in nature, including a book, inspirational card deck, journal, and courses.

We are writers, authors and speakers by trade and offer creativity and nature retreats on our property. Our small specialty farm is an outgrowth of our quest to create a self-sustainable, pollinator-friendly property.

One of our specialties is cushaw squash — typically grown in the Appalachian areas and brought from Mexico by the Native Americans thousands of years ago. Cushaw are wonderful baked, made into pumpkin-style pies and breads. Cushaw weigh 10-20 pounds on average. They will keep for 5-6 months if unblemished and you keep them in a cool dry place. They may also be grated and frozen or pureed and frozen.

We also explore nature symbolism and teach others how to Eat Your Yard and observe and heal in nature. The focus of our retreats is to help you find peace in and connect with nature, letting Creation inspire your own creativity. It’s a great place to step out of the world’s commotion so you can relax, create, write and commune with nature. We also speak on Partnering with the Earth, Finding Peace, and Living in Sacred Nature. Please contact us if you’d like us to speak to your group.

Our goal is to help others integrate nature into their daily lives, see our Creator’s messages in the world around them, and make inner peace a consistent part of life so that they can find greater levels of fulfillment and purpose.

Our Mission: Find God’s Peace through Nature

At Spirit Tree Farms, we believe God’s message of peace, joy, happiness, creativity, and fulfillment is available through Nature, for those who will listen and experience. We help people connect to the Savior Jesus Christ’s message of peace and joy by getting out in Nature and observing — and enjoying — all His gifts to us. We also believe that, by understanding Nature, we can join in partnership with Mother Earth and God to help the Earth heal. God’s creation is ongoing, and we are part of it!

We’ve discovered that, as we listen to Nature’s messages, and work in partnership with her and Heavenly Father, we can help the world heal, AND we, ourselves, will be healed. More than just a small family-owned farm specializing in wildflowers, pawpaws, elderberries, cushaw squash, and more, we also run writers and business retreats and workshops.

We help folks discover, create, and deliver their soul’s song in a natural setting. Forest bathing, wildflower spiral and woods walking meditation, creative writing, and nature observation and listening help our business consulting and creative clients relax and focus as they find their deep inner peace, their Core Sacred Self.

Spirit Tree Farms Philosophy

We have a big vision for this property. We feel we have a message that is beyond just what we do on our property (although what we do here is an attempt to model our message). Our message is that our Creator is transmitting peace, joy, connection and inspiration throughout Nature. There is a Divine Light in all things and through all things and people. Everything is comprised of this Sacredness.

When we think we have to deliver this message by ourselves, it can feel daunting and overwhelming. That’s why we try to remind ourselves to listen to our property and what God is telling us through it. We are not alone in caring for our property or in delivering the message God has entrusted to us. God and Nature are both on board with the vision, the message, and the healing that is happening here. Our Creator and Nature know what our property needs to heal.

The inspiration we receive for our property could be different than what you receive for yours. That’s why it’s so important that we each seek Divine inspiration for our own lives, circumstances, and our individual Earth stewardship.

As we collaborate and partner with God, Nature, and our property, synergy produces results beyond anything we could do on our own. We create a place of peace, healing, safety and refuge – a sacred space. As we heal, the Earth heals. As the Earth heals, we heal. There’s no need to approach our partnership with the Earth with anger, shame, blame, or fear. We believe as we come from a place of love, love heals everyone and everything!
